Use both window stickers to check drivetrain, seating, driver-assistance equipment, towing preparation, and optional packages. A feature you want may be standard on one trim and optional on another. Do not assume that a familiar trim name guarantees identical equipment across model years.
Review each program independently
Cash allowances, promotional financing, membership benefits, and customer-specific offers can differ by year, model, and VIN. Ask whether the proposed price includes all required equipment and dealer charges. Do not apply a 2026 program to a 2027 simply because the vehicles share a model name.
Consider your replacement horizon
If you keep vehicles for many years, comfort and useful equipment may matter more than a small model-year difference. Compare two complete vehicles rather than the discount alone. Use their actual stickers to check required equipment, then review each VIN's current offers and approved financing with consistent trade assumptions. Consider your expected ownership period and daily needs, and treat resale estimates as uncertain. A program for one model year does not automatically carry to another.
